Messages from the Day


As I cleaned and cleared clutter and stacks that had long been neglected, I found all sorts of magazines, little books, and trinkets. As I settled into reducing the clutter, I decided to read the magazines and dispose of them, look at the books and trinkets and choose which I would keep, give, or toss. I found one cute little book and enjoyed it's messages, along with a special one for my husband. As I read through it, I felt uplifted with every page turn. Most were about being happy, counting blessings, etc. I particularly liked the "Think Happy, Be Happy" page.

I found an old May-June Forward Day By Day pamphlet. Did you know that in 2012, May 24th was on a Thursday (like this year). The message on Thursday, May 24, 2012, was: "Let all of us speak the truth to our neighbors, for we are members of one another." I reflected on how true this was and is. -Ephesians 4:17

I read the three magazines, pulling out a recipe or two, some simple tidbits on cleaning and organizing, and tossed them into the recycle bin. I really cleared a substantial amount of clutter and was cleaning the bedside table, when I discovered one of my deceased mom's little books called Dayted Excellence." It was one my sister and I found just after she passed, and I had always kept it (with a label I added that day) on the page where my mother left it. I have always had warm thoughts whenever I found it. After reading the simple message on this page, I imagined the words coming from Mom: "You go where your thoughts take you." This is so true, and it goes along with the little book I found earlier: "Think Happy, Be Happy." I smiled, and as I re-read it, I noted that its date was May 24...
